Introduction
The Sanjay Dubri Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the largest
wildlife sanctuaries in India. Covering an area of approximately
1471 square kilometers, the Sanjay Dubri wildlife sanctuary is a
majestic place to visit for the nature lovers. It was
established in the year 1975. It is most famous for its
collection of birds, tigers, nilgai, sambar, and Gaur.
Flora
The Sanjay-Dubri wildlife sanctuary is blessed with a great
variety of flora and fauna by the nature. The flora in Sanjay-Dubri
wildlife sanctuary is dominantly the tropical dry deciduous
forest. The major flora found in Sanjay-Dubri wildlife sanctuary
includes Babul, Sal, Bel, Bambo, Palas, Hiwar, Bel, Bija, Khair,
Tendu, Dhawda, Zizphus Helicteres, Terminenalia species, Salaia,
Teak, etc. The commonly found shrubs include varieties of Vitex
Nigundo, Isora, Casia Auriculata, Solanium Giganteum, Lantna
etc.
The fauna in Sanjay Dubri wildlife sanctuary is also quite
remarkable. The major attraction is the Elephant. The most commonly
found species include Bison, Chital, Panther,
Wolf, Four-horned antelope, Barking deer, Wild Dog, Samber,
Chinkara, Blue Bull, Hyaena, Wildbore, Bear, Crocodile, etc.

receives quite a bit of rainfall during the monsoons. It the

during the rainy season.
