About Hotel
At the first glance, the Tiger Camp looks like the balcony
of a house covered with shady trees with a lawn. As you enter,
this house transforms itself into the reception and lobby. A
balcony effectively converted into an open lobby overlooking the
lawn that serves as the parking space, the Tiger Camp is a
cluster of cottages through winding lanes lined with greenery.
The lobby is cute with cane lamp shades hanging from the ceiling
and matching fans to keep you cool.
Rooms
As you take the path lined with shrubs and flowers, you will
find yourself in front of several beautiful cottages with
individual balcony. These are the Deluxe rooms. Once inside, the
drawing room presents itself as bright and colourful with a
diwan and sofa. The adjoining bedroom is bright as well and is
accomplished with an air conditioner, phone, writing table, wall
mirror, luggage rack and beautiful pastel curtains/blinds. There
is a lounge area here as well attached to the wall.
The bathroom
is surprisingly pleasant and big with a tub, wardrobe and
regular amenities like soap, towel, and toilet papers. Hidden
from purview of the smaller cottages lie a big-one storey
bungalow, which are the Superior rooms. They are chic and bigger
and give a spacious feeling. Part of this room has a
refrigerator, sofa and a centre table, study table, phone and an
air conditioner. The bathroom is like the Deluxe rooms. The
Standard rooms are single cottages, but smaller and have the
same facilities as in the Deluxe room.
Dining
The restaurant is a huge circular shack with thatched roof and
seating around its periphery. There is a huge buffet laid out at
the centre for all groups. With a capacity of 38 persons, the
restaurant serves Indian, Chinese, Continental and Tandoori
delicacies.
Facilities
A beautiful souvenir shop next to the restaurant offers all
kinds of stuff like t-shirts with 'Save Tige' logos, tiger
stuffed toys, pen stands and other tit bits. If you want to
spend a lazy day chilling out at the Camp, you can play
badminton, river volley ball and beach cricket.
You can even opt
to spend a day to yourself by the Kosi River, which is just a
0.5 km walk from the resort.
Location
The big bold sign board of the Tiger Camp is difficult to miss
on the Garjia Road. With the opposite side of the Camp covered
in dense forest, the main gate of Bijrani is 6 kms away, Jhirna
18 kms away and a not so popular Dhangiri gate is 12 kms away
from the Camp. The railway station and bus stand at Ramnagar,
which is also the closest town from the Camp.
