About Hotel
Corbett Riverside Resort perches right at the edge of the Kosi
River, overlooking nothing but the river meandering down a vast
expanse of pebbles and steep mountains rising up on the opposite
bank. The resort itself has sweeping gardens bathed in green
with tall palm trees and winding lanes overflowing with roses.
Hammocks hang here and there from trees and chairs are placed
strategically overlooking the vista of the river and the hills.
The cluttered reception, housed in a small room with a few
couches, can be a turn off but persist, explore the resort and
you won't be disappointed with this 18 year old resort.
Location
The Bijrani gate of the Reserve is 10 kms away from the resort
while the Ramnagar railway station and bus stand lie at a
distance of 13 kms.
Rooms
There are 36 air conditioned rooms at the resort in the
categories of Double Bedroom, Deluxe Suite, River Front
room and River View room. While all the rooms at the resort are
refreshingly large and have similar amenities comprising
telephone, tea/coffee maker, cushy couches, a mirror with a sofa
chair and an ornamental fireplace, they differ from each other
in size and location. The Double Bedrooms are located as you
approach the gardens from the reception and the Deluxe Suite is
a bit further away. To reach the River Front Room, however, you
have to traverse the gardens and climb up the porch with a
sit-out that leads into the very large rooms. All-glass windows
adorn the walls facing each other, the back looking out to the
beautiful gardens and the front facing the mighty vista of the
river and the mountains. Move further on and you will reach the
River Front Rooms, perched right at the edge of the river. Stand
on the porch outside the rooms and look down, voila - the river!
It's needless to reiterate how beautiful the view is.
Dining
The resort's restaurant has all glass walls to take optimum
advantage of the surrounding view. You can eat your meal inside
staring at the river twist out of sight or choose to dine
outside, soothing white noise accompanying your meal. The staff
willingly lay your table in garden as well. The cuisine served
is primarily Indian (read Mughlai) and a variety of snacks are
on offer too. There is a buffet spread for breakfast and dinner.
Hotel Facilities
The resort can arrange for your jungle safari, whether on a jeep
or elephant back. The resort's swimming pool lies nestled within
the garden, surrounded by greenery. The conference room can
accommodate 70-80 guests and the restaurant has a capacity of
100. There is a TV room with khaki couches adjacent to the
restaurant. On the other side, there is a party area with
contemporary bar stools, disco lights and music system. The
resort arranges for a DJ on request and also organises
cultural dances here. Guests can enjoy a game of table tennis in
the conference room when it is not being used, while there is
also a pool table in the restaurant area, the services of which
are to be paid for. Other games include badminton and
volleyball. The resort also organises adventure activities such
as river rafting (during the monsoon), river crossing, river
rappelling as well as elephant rides, horse riding, trekking.
During winters the resort organises bonfire nights. Other
facilities include car rental, car parking and a doctor on call.
